December was a less busy than normal, as the holidays typically slow down travel and new vehicle debuts, but I did manage to drive a number of interesting cars and SUVs. Here’s a summary of what I put miles on in December of 2014.
2015 Audi S3
One of the best cars I’ve driven this year, this compact luxury sedan was a lot of fun in the snow and offered great performance with a respectable amount of comfort, too. Check out my reviews of the Audi S3 at Autobytel and The Car Guide.
2015 Volkswagen GTI
Based on the same platform as the S3, the 2015 Volkswagen GTI is a good option as a daily driver if you want to have fun without rattling your bones on a reasonable budget. I didn’t find it as raw as the previous-generation GTI, but that’s kind of the point with Volkswagen’s latest refresh. 2015 Volvo V60 T5 Drive-E
Volvo’s latest four-cylinder wagon also happens to be its best – no more sluggish acceleration from the 2015 Volvo V60 Drive-E with its 240 horsepower turbocharged motor and eight-speed automatic transmission. Read my reviews of this practical premium wagon for Autobytel and The Car Guide.
2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
A pretty little ‘ute that grew on me by the time I finished our week together, the 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque was far more useful than I thought it would be given its small proportions and concessions to style. 2015 Chrysler 300
Not all-new, but more of a re-styling effort – especially inside – I had the chance to test out the 2015 Chrysler 300 in Austin, Texas. It’s comfy, big, and very much like the car that it replaces. My first drive review of the 300 is online at Autobytel.
2015 Ram Promaster City
Small cargo vans are all the rage these days, and the 2015 Ram Promaster City is the latest entry into an increasingly crowded field. It’s a good hauler, but not the best people mover, due to rear seat placement and a somewhat spartan interior. My first drive review of the Promaster City is available at Autobytel.
2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
